Detroit Perinatal Wellness Coalition

The Detroit Perinatal Wellness Coalition provides mental health support and holistic services for Detroit families.

Our goals:

  • To increase awareness and effects of perinatal mood disorders

  • To serve disadvantaged and underinsured families and provide connections to support their needs

  • To connect BIPOC providers with relevant training opportunities and education to better serve birthing families

We envision a community where:

  • All expectant and new parents, and those who have lost a pregnancy or infant, feel accepted and empowered.

  • All providers are confident in their ability to assess for, treat, and make referrals for clients with perinatal mood disorders.

  • Parents have easy access to a wide array of effective and culturally appropriate treatment for mood disorders and loss.

  • Maternal mental health is supported by national, state, city, and institutional policies.
