Professional education and training

  • Postpartum Support International: Information and training opportunities. They offer an intensive 2-day certificate program as well as online trainings. Their hotline was also available at 1.800.944.4773.

  • The Postpartum Stress Center: Offers a 12-hour post-graduate training program as well as education and resources.

  • MedEd: Research and education on screening, treating and referring for perinatal mood disorders.

Medications

  • MC3 (University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry): MC3 program provides telephone psychiatry support to primary care providers in Michigan who are managing patients with mild to moderate behavioral health problems, including women who are contemplating pregnancy, are pregnant, or are up to one year postpartum. Psychiatrists are available to offer guidance on diagnoses, medications and psychotherapy interventions so that primary care providers can better manage patients in their practices.

  • Medications and Mothers’ Milk: A Manual of Lactational Pharmacology (Dr. Thomas Hale)

  • Mother to Baby: Research-based information on medications and supplements during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Also has an app.

  • MotheRisk: Information on medications during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Helpline is available at 877-439-2744.

  • Infant Risk Center: Helpline is available Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm EST, at 806-352-2519 for information on OTC and Rx medications while pregnant or nursing.
